LOCATION OF SITEīella Vista Natural Reserve is located a short 15-min drive from the small town of Victoria, which itself is located just 12 km north of Mariquita. Bella Colibri brings rustic elegance and five-star, creative Italian cuisine to downtown Golden. In more open areas around Victoria it's possible to find Yellow-backed Tanager and other birds. These include White-bibbed and Western Striped Manakin, both quite common, and the near-endemic Bar-crested Antshrike. A number of other interesting birds are also found in the reserve. Endemics in the reserve are White-mantled Barbet, Beautiful Woodpecker, Antioquia Bristle-Tyrant, a small flycatcher that mainly frequents upper levels of the forest canopy, Sooty Ant-Tanager, and Velvet-fronted Euphonia. Bella Colibri's name is Italian for 'beautiful hummingbird' and was chosen because the arrival of hummingbirds herald the coming of summer in Colorado. The reserve has recently gained a reputation among birders as a relatively easy place to see Tody Motmot, a diminutive motmot that is widely distributed but quite difficult to see in most places. Bella Colibri is located inside the historic brick building at 812 12th Street that once served as the Centennial State's territorial capitol before Colorado became a state. La Bella di Cerignola, Olive Cellina di Nard, Intosso, Nocellara del Belice are the best Italian table olives, inimitable and respectful of the territory. Birding in the reserve is mainly along the roadside.
